SINGPORE FIRM LAUNCHES RELOCATABLE HOMES

ISSUE DEC 2018/ JAN 2019

SINGAPORE BASED MODULAR HOUSE BUILDER POD STRUCTURES HAS LAUNCHED A LINE OF BESPOKE, RELOCATABLE HOMES, EXAMPLES OF WHICH HAVE FOUND THEIR WAY TO WESTERN AUSTRALIA.

Movit relocatable homes are prefabricated housing units manufactured in Singapore by Pod Structures and can typically be set up in seven to 10 days. Made primarily from aluminium, their light weight profile means the homes can be dismantled and carried without the use of cranes. The homes are also designed to withstand hot and cold climates.

It is understood Pod Structures recently signed a memorandum of understanding with a property rental business to install two Movit units in Western Australia. The business owners, who are Australians based in Singapore, were able to see their relocatable homes ready in less than two weeks, following approval and preliminary works such as underground plumbing.

Movit is the fruit of 18 months of research, design, engineering, studying market trends and testing. Pod Structures was founded by CEO Samuel Vedanaigam, Lee Kay Lian and Wee Kay Charn in 2015. Its latest Movit release is riding the wave of flexible living solutions for city dwellers. Vedanaigam reportedly said he has seen a 20 per cent jump in the number of clients compared to five years ago.■
