PERTH BASED PRO9 TO OPEN SYDNEY PLANT

Set for expansion: Pro9's panel product enables construction of a single storey build within eight weeks.

PERTH BASED COMPANY PRO9 GLOBAL IS RAISING UP TO $12 MILLION TO OPEN A NEW MANUFACTURING PLANT IN SYDNEY TO MEET DEMAND FROM THE RESIDENTIAL SECTOR.

The company is seeking to expand into the Australian residential construction market with a versatile panel product that can function both as a structural product and as wall panelling, and needs a new Sydney plant so it can guarantee volume into the Australian market.

The product complies with building code requirements around fire safety for wall systems rather than cladding products. Estimated construction time of a single storey build is between six and eight weeks meaning a cost saving of between 20 per cent and 30 per cent for a builder.

Pro9 is initially targeting mid-tier volume builders, offering panels that can be built to specification and delivered on the back of a truck, reducing the need for on-site trades such as bricklayers and plasterers. y

It is also understood the privately owned Pro9, which has ambitions to list in the next 12 to 18 months, is expanding its international reach, having recently signed a contract to supply cladding to 150 residential towers in Croatia. The company also has a facility in Bosnia, established to produce a façade product for the local residential market.■
