Mixed use vision: Sidewalk Labs’ smart community in Toronto aims to redefine construction and community.
Taking place from Saturday 9 June to Thursday 14 June, the Study Tour will visit key locations for prefab and offsite methodologies across the North American market, including San Francisco and Tennessee in the USA and Toronto, Canada. It will include the opportunity to hear local insights from leading industry experts, as well as a number of factory and project visits.
In San Francisco, tour attendees will visit selected projects and will attend presentations from invited industry players and lead thinkers from the University of California.
The Tennessee leg of the tour will include a visit to Clayton Homes in Knoxville, including head office presentations and visits to site projects, the prefab home factory and the distribution centre.
The tour will conclude in Toronto, Canada with highlights including Sidewalk Toronto precinct and Sidewalk Labs presentation. A subsidiary under the Alphabet umbrella that also houses Google, Sidewalk Labs is driving redevelopment of 12 acres of south eastern waterfront in Toronto to become a “smart” community, with key goals including transportation, affordable housing and sustainability.
A factory tour and project visit at homebuilder H+ME Technologies will form the conclusion of the tour.
