Developed and manufactured in Australia, the trademarked Azure Facade System is well suited to covering large surface areas and is particularly suitable where colour is used to create bold statements. It has also been tested in accordance with AS 4040.2-1992 (R2016) to meet AS/NZS 1170.2:2011 (R2016) non-cyclonic wind pressure requirements.
The Azure Facade System is a registered design of BlueScope and is manufactured under licence to Kertn Pty Ltd (VIC), a new business focusing on facades and modular construction under the umbrella of property development, furniture, construction, and consulting business Schiavello.
Kertn Director Robert De Marco told Built Offsite the Colorbond steel used to manufacture Azure facade panels would also prove an asset for projects where non-combustible materials are required by the NCC.*
De Marco said Azure offered clear benefits to builders and developers. “It’s more efficient, accurate and easier to install. It also offers one warranty for material and paint finish.”
The system also embodied positive features for builders focused on sustainable construction. “We believe design is not just about product; it’s about responsibility,” he said. “We must strive to leave this world not depleted, but greater and better than it was left to us. Kertn sets out to integrate efficient, economical design-led architectural prefabricated modular solutions that align with this ethos, as we see the future evolving into demountable construction, entailing circularity, material harvest and re-use.”
De Marco confirmed a number of projects had successfully deployed the product in Australia, including South Wharf at Docklands.
