NAME CHANGE REFLECTS NEW IMPETUS FOR VICTORIAN FIRM

BHA PROJECT MANAGEMENT HAS CHANGED ITS BUSINESS NAME TO SENSUM.

A statement from the Melbourne headquartered company confirmed the change was designed to better reflect its positioning as a visionary and intuitive leader in modern construction solutions.

With a profile for its work in overseeing offsite construction projects, including the Victorian School Building Authority’s modular and relocatable building programs, Sensum was “more than just a project manager,” offering a wide range of bespoke services including project delivery, program management, and consulting solutions, confirmed CEO Nick Strongman.

“We are really proud of what we have achieved in schools. We are passionate about challenging industry traditions to deliver positive results for our clients and for local communities.”

“Sensum is committed to building relationships with industry partners and stakeholders to promote state-of-the art, sustainable and environmental construction solutions.”

The rebrand comes as Sensum celebrates its nomination in the 2018 Telstra Business Awards, as one of five Victorian companies to be nominated in the Emerging and Energised category.

“It couldn’t come at a better time. We are re-energised and refocussed to make a difference,” said Strongman.

SENSUM PROJECT’S TV SHOWCASE

Meanwhile a Sensum project has received media attention through TV series ‘Sacred Spaces’, which celebrates outstanding architecture, urban planning and sustainability in Victoria.

The show recently aired a documentary on the design of modular and prefabricated classrooms for schools in Victoria, featuring the new library at Altona Primary School.

Sensum delivered the state-of-the-art prefabricated library to the school on behalf of the Victorian School Building Authority. “Designed and manufactured by ArKit, the library is a stunning example of what can be achieved with off-site construction,” said Strongman. “Featuring a pitched roof, timber panelling, and high-performing thermal and acoustic properties, the space is built to facilitate 21st century learning. The process took 14 weeks from start to finish, including only eight weeks to assemble it onsite. The school community is delighted with the result.”

The episode highlights the possibilities of what can be achieved with offsite construction, and challenges preconceived notions that modular and prefabricated buildings are inferior or less permanent.

‘Sacred Spaces’ is broadcast on Victorian Channel 31 at prime time (Monday at 6pm) and has reached over 120 episodes. It has an audience of 40,000 viewers. It is also aired on Foxtel’s Aurora national community channel on Friday at 5pm.■
