SYNC BATHROOM PODS

ISSUE AUG/ SEPT 2019

SYNC HAS ENJOYED STELLAR GROWTH OVER THE LAST SIX YEARS, DEMONSTRATING THE BRAND’S PROVEN CAPABILITIES IN MEETING INDUSTRY DEMAND FOR BATHROOM POD SOLUTIONS.

In that period, under the management of Operations Director Eddie Pallotta, Sync has grown from four to over 200 staff. One reason for the brand’s success is its reputation for innovation. Its directors and founders knew prefabricated solutions would become more viable in the future, for a high percentage of construction projects. They also knew that the modular approach was as much about manufacturing as it was about construction.

Pallotta’s appointment as a specialist in manufacturing aligns with this view. Bringing him into the company was recognition of the need to apply a manufacturing process approach from the outset. Chris Ong joined Sync in 2015 as Commercial Director and has also played a pivotal role in developing the business by building the brand, pipeline of projects and expanding the team.

“The approach has worked and we have developed a brilliant design, production, installation and project management team drawn from both manufacturing and construction expertise,” says Eddie. “Builders are typically more creative and flexible, while manufacturers are generally more process-driven. We have excelled in merging the two, resulting in a nimble, resourceful, process-driven team that delivers consistent construction manufacturing excellence.”

“Because Sync was born of an innovative construction firm constructing 40-50 storey buildings, we understand prefabricated construction very well, so our clients can leave us to work on our part of their project, knowing the components will arrive just in time and slot into place, every time. We encourage clients to get in touch with us very early in their process, so that we can design, develop, deliver and install with precision.”

The add-ons delivered alongside bathroom pods are a key point of difference for the business. “We can add MEP and external joinery units, kitchen, laundry, plumbing stacks and mechanical ducting to the bathroom solution, which dramatically reduces the number of trades onsite, potential problems and cost for builders.”

Sync’s commitment to customer service results in prompt follow-through on requests and queries. Offering price points that are competitive, the company is known for delivering consistent precision and excellent design discipline. Sync also has an excellent reputation for timing. “Our motto is, we deliver ‘just in time’, which is exactly when our clients want delivery; not early or late,” he says. “Timing precision is key to an efficient process. That timing may also mean being able to wait if construction is running behind. We can warehouse the pods until delivery, which is very valuable for our clients.”

Sync’s in-house software keeps track of the production schedule and all processes are electronically linked to the warehouse and product inventory. This kind of tracking provides added quality control, more efficient use of products and less wastage. It is a paperless and seamless system that enables all stages of production and delivery to be expedited with optimum precision and efficiency.

“Sustainability is also increasingly on the agenda and will become more so over time,” says Pallotta. “We are fully focussed on streamlining our processes from concept to post-installation with clever design for minimum waste, ideal recycling and upcycling and maximum energy efficiency.”

Backed by technological advancements and sound manufacturing processes, Sync is well positioned to continue driving its reputation for innovation and best practice in the bathroom pod market, he adds. “With the experience, resources and infrastructure we have put in place, the outlook for Sync is very robust.”■
