NEW DESIGN + DELIVERY PLATFORM PROMISES GAME-CHANGE

US: San Francisco based prefabrication specialist Project Frog has unveiled a new platform for the design and delivery of its award-winning buildings.

At myprojectfrog.com, currently in beta form, architects, builders and developers can browse through pre-configured building typologies, or set site-specific parameters for design. An intuitive interface allows users to plan their program, size rooms, and even place the exact location of doors and windows, all while receiving real-time structural validation for each unique site requirement.

Drew Buechley, president and CEO of Project Frog, commented that by leveraging cloud-based design automation and scalable manufacturing capacity, the company was equipped to respond to burgeoning demand within California’s school construction market, as well as expanding into other commercial sectors by offering office, retail and healthcare buildings.

He confirmed the company is currently engaged in a recruitment drive to service an influx of new projects and develop associated products and software.
A building can be configured at myprojectfrog.com in a matter of minutes and, once submitted to Project Frog, users can view their model in a browser or mobile device.
Meanwhile, against the backdrop of swelling demand for educational facilities in California’s key school districts, Project Frog has made available a new Pre-Check (PC) Application #01-115597, covering 2, 3, and 4 classroom building typologies within the Project Frog building platform. Each PC design is pre-approved by Californian Government department the Division of the State Architect (DSA) to dramatically reduce approval cycles and shorten wait times by up to 50%, with over-the-counter review.

“By streamlining approval cycles and utilising our state-of-the-art technology platform to allow project teams to quickly configure prefabricated buildings, Project Frog is completely changing the way we address school facility needs,” said Buechley. “This provides our kids the kind of learning environments that ensure their good health, well-being, and gives them an equal chance for a high-quality education, no matter where they land on the socio-economic spectrum.”

Project Frog’s prefabricated structures offer a solution to provision of education facilities without cost over-runs or comprises on quality. The company’s solutions are designed to reduce traditional construction schedules by up to 50 per cent, while delivering greener, smarter buildings and reducing the total cost of ownership for the lifetime of the building.■
