ADMARES expands Australian Smart Factory plans with Bosch partnership

New documentary outlines the industrial manufacturing platform the company intends to deploy as it prepares for its Australian market launch.

ADMARES has expanded its Australian Smart Factory plans with the announcement of a strategic partnership with Bosch and the release of a documentary detailing the industrial manufacturing platform it intends to deploy locally.

The developments build on the company’s plans to establish its first Australian Smart Factory, positioning Australia as an early deployment market for a manufacturing system designed to produce homes using industrial production principles rather than conventional construction methods.

The partnership with Bosch extends well beyond the supply of household appliances. Bosch Australia Manufacturing Solutions (BAMS) will support the integration of factory production and logistics systems, while leading factory commissioning and production ramp-up. Bosch’s global manufacturing and consulting divisions will also contribute expertise in industrial engineering, automation and factory integration. Bosch home appliances and home comfort technologies are expected to form part of ADMARES’ finished Smart Homes.

The agreement further expands an industrial technology ecosystem that already includes ABB Robotics, Siemens, EDAG, MHP – A Porsche Company and Porsche Consulting.

Documentary details the Smart Factory platform

Coinciding with the Bosch announcement, ADMARES has released a documentary providing its most detailed explanation to date of the Smart Factory concept and the manufacturing technologies behind it.

According to the company, the platform has been developed over more than eight years in collaboration with global technology partners. The documentary traces ADMARES’ evolution from its origins in modular shipbuilding to what it describes as a fully digitalised, industrialised and productised housing manufacturing platform.

Through interviews with executives from ADMARES and its technology partners, the documentary explores how robotics, digital twins, industrial artificial intelligence, automated production systems and digital engineering are intended to work together to manufacture homes using assembly-line production principles. Featured organisations include ABB Robotics, EDAG, MHP – A Porsche Company, Porsche Consulting, Siemens and NVIDIA, with the latter making its first appearance as part of ADMARES’ broader technology ecosystem.

The documentary also demonstrates how factory layouts, production logistics and manufacturing workflows are designed and validated digitally before physical construction begins. According to ADMARES, connected Smart Home technologies will also generate operational data that can be used to support future product development and continuous improvement.

The latest announcements indicate that ADMARES continues to focus on developing its industrial ecosystem alongside its planned Australian manufacturing capability. While earlier announcements highlighted ambitious production targets and factory capacity, the company’s recent communications place greater emphasis on the engineering, automation and digital technologies required to support large-scale housing manufacturing.

For the offsite construction sector, the Bosch partnership and accompanying documentary provide the clearest picture yet of how ADMARES intends to position housing production as an advanced manufacturing process, drawing on expertise more commonly associated with the automotive and industrial engineering sectors than traditional building.

The next milestone will be the transition from digital planning and technology partnerships to the commissioning of the first operational Smart Factory, where the manufacturing platform can be demonstrated at commercial scale.
