Holon volumetric building system applied to 16-storey residential project.
BROAD Group has completed Earth Tower, a 16-storey modular residential building in Abu Dhabi, using its Holon volumetric modular building system. The project has been positioned by the company as a recently completed pilot for high-rise modular construction in the Middle East, applying industrialised manufacturing methods to a fully occupied residential tower. Delivered for developer Eagle Hills, the project demonstrates how factory-based construction can be applied to multi-storey residential buildings while limiting on-site activity and construction duration. BROAD Group said the building was assembled from 259 prefabricated modules, manufactured offsite and installed on location over a four-day period following delivery.

Factory-built modules replace conventional site construction
Earth Tower was constructed using BROAD Group’s Holon modular system, which relies on fully finished stainless-steel volumetric modules rather than reinforced concrete. According to the company, the modules were produced in a controlled factory environment over a 30-day manufacturing phase, before being transported to Abu Dhabi for installation.
The Holon system uses a proprietary bolted connection method designed to allow rapid assembly while avoiding wet trades. BROAD Group said this approach reduces construction waste, improves quality consistency, and limits noise, dust, and disruption at the construction site when compared with conventional high-rise building methods.

“This project shows that speed, quality, and sustainability are not mutually exclusive,” said Shun Li, Deputy General Manager of BROAD Holon Co. Ltd. “By transferring almost all construction processes to the factory, we can effectively ensure quality, shorten the construction period, and reduce construction waste and carbon emissions.”

Housing delivery aligned with UAE sustainability targets
The completed building provides 168,128 square feet (approximately 15,620 square metres) of residential space across 150 apartments, including studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts. Eagle Hills said the tower was designed to reduce operational energy and water demand through enhanced thermal insulation and upgraded mechanical systems that comply with Abu Dhabi’s green building standards.

Earth Tower also serves as a test case aligned with the UAE’s broader sustainability and emissions objectives, including its Vision 2031 targets. Eagle Hills has indicated that further residential towers ranging from 15 to 30 storeys are already being planned using the same modular system, with construction periods expected to remain under six months per building and costs comparable to conventional high-rise delivery.
The project follows BROAD Group’s recent recognition at the CES 2026 SPEED Awards, where its Holon modular building system received a Smart Living Award for its industrialised construction approach and reduced environmental impact.
