McCarthy in collaboration with Sydney-based APAC lead, Adam Jordan, will make a series of new hires to create a multidisciplinary, multi-region team in Australia, allowing more clients to benefit from Bryden Wood’s industrialised construction MMC methodology.

“I’m pleased to be able to share in shaping the vision for Bryden Wood in Australia. Developers and contractors are prioritising offsite and DfMA solutions. Modular factories are growing, but IP protectionism is holding the industry back. I believe our platform approach to design and delivery will lead the development of more convenient solutions and expansion in local market capabilities,” said Simon McCarthy.
According to a company source, Bryden Wood’s global provenance in developing data-led, MMC and DfMA solutions range from major contractors to government departments, from big industry to tech start-ups, has resulted in significant reductions in construction time, carbon and cost by transforming productivity and efficiency.
Global clients such as Equinix and GSK have already worked with Bryden Wood in Australia. Established local names like Marathon Modular, Longmuir Group, TSA and government departments like Schools Infrastructure NSW are working with Bryden Wood on current projects.
The company, according to a release, now plans to expand its reach in MMC/DfMA projects and process facility design for advanced manufacturing, energy, pharma, labs and life sciences.
Bryden Wood’s vision for MMC focuses on a platform approach to design and construction, whereby, a standardised volumetric or two-dimensional kit-of-parts are used at component level which encourages design freedom at asset level.
Bryden Wood has offices in Boston; London and St Albans; Barcelona; Milan; Singapore; and now Sydney and Melbourne.
