Homespace is the new face of modular builder Ilke Homes

UK modular builder Ilke Homes, which collapsed, has re-emerged under the new identity of Homespace.

lke Homes, a once-prominent UK modular builder collapsed in June 2023 with debts totalling $629 million. The collapse also resulted in the loss of 1,150 jobs: the plant had capacity to manufacture 2,000 homes annually.

Following its collapse, the insolvency process led to the auctioning off of all its assets in August 2023 in an attempt to pay off its creditors. The auction also included the sale of Ilke Homes’ offsite construction and manufacturing equipment. trademarks, design intellectual property, modular stock, and technology patents.

A new company has emerged from the carnage and is promoting the same building processes and methodologies as Ilke Homes, also referencing Ilke’s logo, but under a new brand called Homespace.

According to the website, “Homespace was born through the completion of a strategic asset purchase agreement, taking ownership of Ilke’s trademarks, Design IP, Modular stock, and technology patents.”

“Over the course of its six-year lifespan, Ilke homes delivered over 1,000 high-quality energy-efficient homes across the UK utilising their extremely innovative modular manufacturing practices and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) technology.

“Our dedicated regional development teams and national partnerships team lead both development-led package deals and homes-only superstructure orders (delivery and install), D&B turnkey construction packages, partnerships and joint ventures.

“Our end-to-end offering means we can meet tight deadlines, thanks to our teams taking full control of the construction programme, helping to access revenue streams as early as possible.”

The website further states that “Homespace has a full complement of development management experience to manage all stages of the project lifecycle, from site identification, through planning and finally to site commencement.”

The only contact details provided on the Homespace website are an email address located in Ireland, suggesting a possible base of operations or point of contact for the new company.
