India’s EPACK Prefab builds a 14,000-Square-Metre Warehouse in 150 Hours

India’s nascent offsite construction industry appears to be advancing at industrial scale with one of their more prominent players, EPACK Prefab, claiming to have built a 14,000-square-metre warehouse in just 150 hours.

Founded in 1999 in Greater Noida, EPACK Prefab’s expertise lies in delivering projects using light gauge steel framing (LGSF) and insulating composite panels. EPACK Prefab’s offsite methodology focuses on efficiency, precision, and sustainability, catering to a variety of sectors including industrial, institutional, and commercial markets.

Record-Breaking Warehouse Build in Andhra Pradesh

EPACK Prefab is claiming to have completed the construction of a 14,000-square-metre warehouse in Mambattu, Andhra Pradesh, within just 150 hours. And, they’re promoting this achievement to underline their prefabrication capabilities in delivering large-scale infrastructure at speed. The project was built using their PEB technology, which relied on light gague steel and their own composite panels.

Key Construction Milestones

According to company sources, the project’s timeline illustrates the effectiveness of EPACK Prefab’s offsite processes:

  • Structural Erection: Completed in the first 20 hours, forming the foundation.
  • Structural Framework Completion: Achieved by the 48th hour, enabling subsequent stages.
  • Roofing Installation: Finalised by the 90th hour, providing full weatherproofing.
  • Cladding and Finalisation: Concluded by the 120th hour, completing external and internal works.

Accordingly, the entire project was delivered within 150 hours, ready for use.

Industry Recognition

The build has also been acknowledged by the Golden Book of World Records as India’s fastest-constructed structure. According to Manish Vishnoei, Asia Head of the Golden Book of Records, this project sets a precedent for efficiency and technical innovation within the construction industry.
