Liv-Connected modular home in four hours

Customisable offsite-constructed modular home taking orders for USD$500

Based in Pennsylvania, Liv-Connected have positioned themselves as an affordable modular home manufacturer to address the housing crisis in the U.S.

The company was founded in 2019 by Herbert Rogoff and his son, Jordan Rogoff, who was also the co-founder of the architecture firm DXA in New York City.

And, they’ve partnered with a company called Atomic, who has experience in assembling modular structures for live events, to manufacture their modular homes in a 10,000 sqm plant in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

They’re offering two models to customers, including developers and potential individual homeowners: Conexus, a 500-square-foot, one-bedroom home that can be manufactured with additional bedrooms and bathrooms; The Via, which runs on wheels and can be towed as a trailer, is a tiny home with living, sleeping and kitchen space in compact models up to 200 square feet. The Conexus starts at USD$150,000, while the Via starts at USD$90,000.

The intention is to also offer multi-family modular units in the future, where the Conexus can be stacked.

With an online design and customisation options, the production process is said to be completed within six months and, on being delivered to site (with civils completed) the one-bedroom Conexus can be assembled in less than four hours.

Due to its modular design, homeowners can choose to add rooms after the initial assembly. Liv-Connected estimates that its system reduces construction waste by 90 percent compared to a typical single-family structure.

If required, technology can also be embedded in the modular builds with their healthcare plug-ins, such as a Lidar-based fall monitoring device.
