Mega offsite construction tenders open

UK Crown Commercial Service £10 billion Offsite Construction Solutions tenders now open for all Government departments.

The fuse has been lit for the UK Government’s transition to offsite construction and modern methods of construction (MMC) with its new pan-Government collaborative Offsite Construction Solutions framework deal.

The value of the initiative is forecast to be worth up to £10 billion (AUD$17 billion). The initiative signals clear acceptance that modular designs will help drive down the cost of construction and deliver additional benefits in alignment with MMC principles.

Offsite Construction Solutions will replace the existing £500m modular building solutions agreement secured four years ago by five major suppliers – Caledonian, Elliott, McAvoy, Portakabin and Wernick – and a further 18 smaller-scale players.

A ‘bidders’ day took place on 1st September, with the event detailing the new structure framework. Its multi-lot structure also covered the built estate including education, health, justice and defence.

Here’s a snapshot of what’s on offer.
