In the construction industry, talented people from diverse backgrounds are flooding into the workforce, ready to tackle specific industry challenges now and into the future. Already, we are seeing developments in infrastructure solutions for complex health, industrial and environmentally focused problems with new and efficient products and services.

Additionally, the current climate also continues to encourage significant opportunities for MMC solutions that showcase the state’s entrepreneurship and provide early market advantage for local industry into global markets.

MMC specialist, Sensum have played a key role in establishing large pipelines of work to encourage investment from the private sector into innovation. The team have dedicated time to mentoring and working with contractors to assist them in increasing capability and capacity. Thus far, they have established a competitive market that drives value for money for clients. Hosting collaborative lessons learnt sessions, the team focused on continuous improvement to holistically identify opportunities to implement better processes and practices for existing and future projects. As their impact increases, Sensum are continuing to create and expand interconnected MMC networks and supply chains.

The State Government engaged Sensum last year to support the delivery of school upgrades across the state following a history of similar work in Victoria. The team has since formed close partnerships with local builders Sarah Constructions, Ausco Modular, Fusco Constructions, Centina and OneConstruct to help deliver the projects. National company Fleetwood is also working with Sensum locally, after establishing a new facility in Para Hills West.

Sarah Constructions, one of the largest locally owned builders in South Australia are a clear example of an innovative team working with Sensum. They have established a new factory to manufacture volumetric modules and panelised systems, and also a training facility for staff and clients to continue expanding their capability to innovate and deliver valuable projects for the community. To date, Sarah Constructions have delivered three MMC projects, are currently delivering another, and a further four scheduled.

Adelaide (South Australia) is booming, the MMC network is growing, and Sensum is working hand in hand with local contractors to deliver sustainable, people-focused projects for the state.
