POLISH FIRM MODULAR SYSTEM HAS PLANS TO BECOME A MAJOR PLAYER IN THE EUROPEAN MARKET WITH AN EXPANDED FACILITY SET TO OPEN LATER THIS YEAR.
Modular System has grown from a small family business producing 200 units a month three years ago to having the capacity to produce about 800 units once the company’s new factory opens.
While units were traditionally built by hand, the new facility will feature an automated production line.
It is understood the company aims to be among the biggest producers in the European Union. NATO certified, it is on a list of recognised sellers for the Polish government and has recently held talks with the UN and other aid organisations about cooperation.
A spokesperson for the company reportedly commented that a twenty five storey hotel would require 170 units. With buildings able to be built without scaffolding, facades could be easily and quickly constructed. Buildings will have a concrete core in the middle with fire proof staircase and lift shaft around which modules are installed.
The result, said the spokesperson was a finished building in two weeks that would have traditionally taken two years to complete.■
