Innovative solar integration by ClearVue in Prefabulous net-zero modular homes.
Prefabulous, the Wagga Wagga-based modular housing manufacturer, has strengthened its commitment to build net-zero homes by entering into a partnership with ClearVue Technologies. This collaboration aims to integrate ClearVue’s solar glazing and integrated solar cladding into Prefabulous’ new “FabZero” prototype – a modular home designed to meet net-zero energy requirements. Prefabulous’ commitment to sustainability and its path to net-zero also involve the use of recyclable, low-impact materials and innovative heating and cooling solutions.
“We are working towards making as many of our modular homes as energy-efficient and carbon-neutral as possible,” said Gavin King, Founder and Managing Director of Prefabulous. “This pilot allows us to push the boundaries of sustainable housing even further by combining our expertise with ClearVue’s solar technology.”
As part of the agreement, ClearVue will supply a range of its solar products, including its building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) glazing and cladding systems. The pilot modular home will test the performance of these products for energy efficiency, durability, and ease of installation. If successful, ClearVue’s technology will become a standard offering in Prefabulous’ range of modular homes.
Catherine Brasier, Head of Sales at Prefabulous, remarked, “This collaboration supports our vision of producing homes that are both visually appealing and sustainable. By integrating ClearVue’s solar solutions, we are providing an option that aligns with our customers’ desire for eco-friendly living.”
Prefabulous’ “FabZero” modular home prototype is expected to be completed in early 2025. This pilot is seen as a key moment in Prefabulous’ ongoing efforts to lead the market in net-zero modular housing.
