Randek has progressed plans for its November 2026 UK and Sweden industry study tour, with a revised programme confirming several factory visits and manufacturing sessions for participants. (Main pic shows Donaldson Timber Systems’ Randek ZeroLabor robotic systems in operation.)
The tour, first announced in June, is designed to give timber frame, truss, prefabrication and offsite manufacturers direct exposure to how European businesses are applying automation, design-for-manufacture and industrialised production.
The UK leg will begin in London before moving through a series of manufacturing operations in England. Confirmed visits currently include Donaldson Timber Systems, Space4 — part of Persimmon Homes — and Bellway’s Home Space operation.
Rather than focusing solely on machinery, the programme is intended to provide a broader view of how offsite businesses connect design, manufacturing and construction delivery.

Factory visits put production systems in focus
At Space4, participants are scheduled to visit the manufacturing operation and take part in sessions with Randek and hsbcad examining design for manufacturing and assembly. The programme is intended to give attendees a closer look at how design information is translated into repeatable factory production.
Randek Australia Managing Director Jason Reints said when the tour was announced that the objective was to give manufacturers an opportunity to see how comparable businesses overseas are approaching industrialised construction.
“It’s about going to see what other companies are doing overseas,” Reints said. “The visits will also give clear insight as to how manufacturers are designing products, operating their factories and delivering projects in their markets.”
Following the UK programme, participants will travel to Sweden, where the itinerary includes further factory visits ahead of Randek’s Open House in Arvika.
The latest programme includes a proposed visit to Surewood Housing, operating from a facility previously associated with BoKlok, the IKEA and Skanska housing venture. The operation incorporates robotic wall-panel production for volumetric manufacturing.
The tour will conclude on 18 November with Randek’s Open House, where participants will see live machine demonstrations and take part in technical discussions with the company’s engineering team. Planned demonstrations include robotic sheeting and sub-assembly systems, as well as Randek’s new robotic truss assembly system, an add-on system for the AutoEye Truss System.
The programme runs from the UK into Sweden before concluding in Oslo. Participants arrange their own international travel, while the organised tour provides the industry programme and coordinated site visits.
