US based startup Moliving enters agreement with modular builder SG Blocks.
Moliving’s business model of supplying relocatable modular hotel accommodation through sites such as Airbnb that offer the travellers a more remote or rural experience appears to be thriving.
The New York-based startup’s business model is unique in that they retain ownership of the modular hotel rooms, and when climate or market opportunities arise, they can be transported from one person’s property to another.
The relationship between Moliving and SG Blocks was established in March this year when SG Blocks lead Moliving’s seed investment round.
They’ve just confirmed an order for 60 modular hotel rooms with SG Blocks, a developer, designer, and fabricator of modular structures.
The fabrication agreement is valued at approximately US$15 million for an initial 60 units, all of which will be sent to Moliving’s Hurley House location, an eco-resort located in the sought-after Hudson Valley area.

Moliving has already proven itself in the marketplace, winning awards such as Best Brand Launch from Hospitality Design’s HDA 2022, a Platinum Award from the 2022 TITAN Business Awards, and a 2022 Stevie Award for Startup of the Year.

Jordan Bem, CEO of Moliving, also serves on the advisory board of SG Blocks. The initial 60 units will be built over a period of approximately three months, with the plan to build all at the SG Waldron Factory.
