Vanguard acquires modular construction Module-AR from administration

Clinical infrastructure company Vanguard expands modular construction capabilities with Module-AR acquisition.

Vanguard, a UK provider of clinical infrastructure, has announced its acquisition of a Hull-based modular construction company, Module-AR (M-AR), from administration. Dean Watson and Paul Stanley from Begbies Traynor (a business recovery and insolvency firm), along with Rikki Burton from Anderson Brookes, were appointed joint administrators of Module-AR Ltd on 27 October 2023. After negotiations with several interested parties, they successfully completed the sale of the business and its assets as a going concern.

The Gloucester-based Vanguard, known for supplying flexible clinical infrastructure, including equipment, clinical staff, and ancillary services to the healthcare sector both in the UK and internationally, disclosed that it was the purchaser in this deal.

Vanguard’s acquisition includes M-AR’s assets, notably its purpose-built manufacturing facility of 9,300 sqm in Hull. The company specialises in providing mobile and modular-constructed operating theatres, clinical facilities, endoscopy units, and diagnostic solutions, which help healthcare clients expand their clinical capacity. In recent times, Vanguard has experienced a surge in demand for its modular healthcare products.

Chris Blackwell-Frost, Chief Executive of Vanguard, commented on the acquisition: “This investment enables us to significantly increase our capacity for both temporary and permanent modular [construction] space production. It will undoubtedly complement and enhance the services and products we already offer to our customers. We are delighted to join and contribute to the Hull business community.”
