Rothoblaas’ International design competition aims to encourage construction industry’s adoption of mass timber technology.
Italian multinational Rothoblaas, a developer and provider of high technology solutions for the wood sector, has announced the second iteration of their competition called “Building the impossible”

The competition aims to promote the construction industry’s adoption of mass timber technology, highlighting its sustainable benefits over conventional materials like steel and reinforced concrete. With the emergence of engineered timber types such as glue-laminated timber (glulam), oriented strand board (OSB), laminated veneer lumber (LVL), and cross-laminated timber (CLT), there’s a notable shift in the industry’s perspective on the potential of timber.

“The project that wins the first prize will be an inspiration for other future projects that we hope will aspire to sustainable solutions of community interest. Winning the competition means, first of all, coming into direct contact with the international community specializing in the timber construction sector: the projects will be evaluated by leading figures in the sector.
