The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), in partnership with Built Offsite, will host a national event on Thursday 17 July at Bond University’s Spring Hill campus, Brisbane. Titled Constructive Change with Modern Methods, the forum will bring together policymakers, manufacturers, architects, and government leaders to explore the practical uptake of modern methods of construction (MMC) in Queensland.

The event will focus on how prefabricated and modular systems, supported by more integrated supply chains and reform-minded policy settings, can improve housing delivery and sustainability outcomes across Queensland’s built environment.

Isaac Ryan, CIOB.

Isaac Ryan, Policy and Government Relations Manager Oceania, CIOB, said: “The CIOB is delighted to partner with Built Offsite for the upcoming Constructive Change with Modern Methods event on July 17 at Bond University in Spring Hill. The focus on Modern Methods of Construction is closely aligned with the CIOB’s commitment to advancing the development, conservation, and improvement of the built environment. We welcome your participation and look forward to your feedback.”

The programme includes a government keynote from The Hon. Sam O’Connor MP, Queensland’s Minister for Housing and Public Works and Minister for Youth, as well as presentations from Michael Hopkins (Master Builders Queensland), Brad Mayes (Integration Group), Wayne Larson (PT Blink), and Ryan Baxter (CSR). Leah Lang, Queensland Government Architect, will participate in the concluding panel session alongside representatives from Modscape and BuildSkills Australia, examining opportunities and constraints in adopting MMC across Queensland’s public and private sector pipelines.
