RED Grant boosts modular housing production in Western Australia’s wheatbelt

Modular home builder, Evoke Living Homes, opens a new manufacturing facility with Western Australia’s Regional Economic Development (RED) Grant program assistance.

In a shot in the arm for Western Australia’s modular housing sector, Evoke Living Homes, situated in Northam, Western Australia, a builder specialising in modular and prefabricated homes, has officially opened their new all-weather production facility. This development comes on the heels of a $200,000 grant from the Regional Economic Development (RED) Grant program, aimed at enhancing the company’s production capacity and reducing construction delays. The new 2,000 square metre facility is expected to increase Evoke Living Homes’ production by 20 per cent, translating to an additional 8-10 modular homes built annually in the Wheatbelt region.

WA Regional Development Minister Don Punch, who opened the facility, praised the initiative as a significant step towards addressing the housing needs of the Wheatbelt. “Modular home construction plays a vital role in meeting Western Australia’s demand for new housing stock,” said Minister Punch. “Evoke Living Homes is an innovative market leader in the Wheatbelt region, and I am pleased the Cook Government has been able to support the delivery of much-needed homes in our regions.”

The project’s impact also extends beyond modular housing production. Evoke Living Homes has also expanded its workforce to accommodate the increased production capacity, adding six new tradespeople and two apprentices to its team. This expansion not only bolsters the company’s capabilities but also contributes to local employment and economic growth.

Round 7 of the program set to open later this month, local businesses and organisations are encouraged to apply and contribute to the region’s growth.
