Contribute to University of New South Wales survey on prefabrication and housing affordability.
Whittaker Downey, an honours student at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), is conducting research into how prefabrication can enhance housing affordability in Australia. The survey will take approximately 5–10 minutes (20 questions) to complete, and aims to gather valuable insights to shape policy changes.
“The insights gathered will help shape an industry-wide perspective, which I’m pairing with a comparative analysis of prefabrication policies from various countries, including Australia, with the aim of influencing policy to encourage greater prefab adoption and public awareness in Australia.”
Downey’s research also aims to compare government policies from several countries, including the United Kingdom, United States, Japan, Sweden, China, and Australia, to understand how incentives influence prefabrication adoption. His goal is to assess which policies would be most effective in the Australian context to encourage broader acceptance of prefabricated housing.
