Prefab housing experiment goes viral with Nathan “Unspeakable” Graham on YouTube.
Nathan Graham, widely known as “Unspeakable” on YouTube, recently captured attention by ordering a modular home from Amazon for (USD) $38,999 (approx. AUD $61,480). The purchase was part of his experiment to see if a fully functional prefabricated home could be delivered straight to his door.
The compact house arrived in an Amazon-branded box and required unfolding. Documenting the process for his 18.1 million subscribers, Graham explored the 19-by-20-foot (approximately 35-square-metre) structure, which included a bathroom, shower, and kitchen cabinets but came with some surprises.
Graham’s enthusiasm turned to puzzlement when he realised the home had no electrical outlets. “I’m trying to find somewhere to plug in the fridge, but there’s no electrical outlets,” he said during the video, which has already garnered over 7.5 million views.
The product description, however, notes that the prefab house was not wired and recommended hiring an electrician for standard electrical installation.
Amazon clarified that buyers need to arrange additional installations, including wiring and utilities. The property is intended as a mobile solution that offers flexibility but requires careful planning to make it habitable.
Graham completed the setup with a range of additional purchases, including a bunk bed, sofa, tables, and kitchen appliances.
