CAD SPECIALIST EXPANDS IN LINE WITH PREFAB MARKET GROWTH

LEADING CAD SPECIALIST XS CAD HAS EXPANDED ITS DEDICATED DFMA AND PREFABRICATION DESIGN DIVISION TO CATER TO GROWING PREFABRICATION DESIGN DEMAND WORLDWIDE.

XS CAD is an AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) design and consulting firm focused on design, pre-construction, BIM (Building Information Modelling), VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) and DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) modelling and drawing services for architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, retailers and homebuilders.

The UK and India-based firm, with offices in the US, Canada and Australia uses Revit and AutoCAD software to provide prefabricated design models and drawings for a range of prefabricated solutions.

XS CAD’s DfMA division includes engineering designers able to detail prefabricated ceiling and riser module racks. The company also works closely with customers to create 3DBIM models for fabrication.

XS CAD also recently started to provide retained resource teams to larger customers so that the design resource is guaranteed and assured in a market where skilled resources are critical for project success.

A recent XS CAD project involved the provision of models and drawings, including all structural detail and support systems, as well as MEP services, fittings and sanitaryware, for an installation of more than 750 prefabricated bathroom, shower room and washroom pods for a large US based hospital.

In another project, the XS CAD design team created 550 unique, prefabricated engineering modules for corridor ceilings, risers and for an external energy centre in a UKbased hospital. MEP services were coordinated to allow fitting, assembly, access and lagging. The DfMA team assisted with detailed module drawing preparation.  ■
